The company is continuing the implementation of the project Introduction of New Technology for Splitting Dry Cable into Metallic and Non-Metallic Components and Briquetting Metallic Components into Production by SIA Metalekspo. By September 2012, the company will introduce a new technology into the production process for splitting cables into metallic and non-metallic components and briquetting metallic components, as a consequence of which the company will offer new products on the market: metal and plastic pellets from recycled materials that are ready for immediate use in the manufacture of new products.
The project is being implemented as part of Operational Programme 2 of the European Regional Development Fund, Entrepreneurship and Innovations, Sub-Activity Implementation of new products and technologies in production (Contract No L-JPR-11-0075).

On 14 December 2011, LLC Metalekspo entered into the agreement with SA Investment and Development Agency of Latvia on the implementation of the project “External marketing activities of LLC Metalekspo” (No. L-ĀTA-11-0778).
Within this project, the company participated successfully in the international exhibition World Scrap Metal Congress 2011 in Shanghai, China.

The company has concluded the first phase of the implementation of the project, “Introduction of the New Technology for the Division of Dry Cables into Metallic and Non-Metallic Fractions and for the Briquetting of SIA ‘Metalekspo’, and the purchase of the telescopic loader”. Before September 2012 the company will introduce new technology for the division of cables into metallic and non-metallic fractions and the briquetting of the metallic constituents, as a result of which the company will produce a new product on the market, a plastic and metallic granulate that is created from recycled materials and which is suitable for immediate use for the production of new products.

SIA “Metalekspo” signed an agreement with SA “Investment and Development Agency of Latvia” on 27 July 2011 regarding the implementation of the project, “Implementing the New SIA “Metalekspo” Technology
By implementing the project, SIA “Metalekso” will introduce new technology into the production line for the partition of cables in metallic and non-metallic fractions and the briquetting of metallic ingredients. As a result the company will offer a new product for the market, in the form of metal and plastic granulate made from recycled materials, which is appropriate for immediate use in the production process for new products.
Project implementation was launched on 4 March 2011 and will continue until 4 September 2012.

On July 22, 2010, SIA „METALEKSPO" entered into an agreement with the State Agency „State Education Development Agency” on implementation of the project „Professional practice of the head of SIA "METALEKSPO" in foreign countries". The Project is being implemented within the framework of the Lifelong Learning Programme, in the sub-programme of Leonardo Da Vinci Mobility Projects.
Within the framework of the project "Professional practice of the head of SIA "METALEKSPO" in foreign countries" the head of our Company went to a partner in Lithuania, who also deals with all types of recycling, hazardous waste collection and shipment for export or for processing, collection, sorting and recycling of discarded electrical equipment and batteries, purchasing of non-ferrous and ferrous scrap metal. This company introduced a new production process in Lithuania, in the result of which a new product made of recycled materials is being manufactured. The main objective of the practice of the head of SIA "METALEKSPO" is to study the implementation process of this new manufacturing technology and the performance results in order to enable introduction of a similar technology by "METALEKSPO" and to evaluate the expected results. "ŽALVARIS" is a responsive business partner, and willingly agreed to participate in the project, and offered the opportunity to share with details of establishment and implementation of such a manufacturing process, as well as with the final results obtained.
Project preparation is a serious work both for the company head and the personnel involved, but the implementation of this project has provided invaluable experience, recognisability at the European Union level and, through the development of professional skills and abilities of the head of the Company, enhances the competitiveness of the Company, not only in the Baltics, but also throughout the EU.
